A stackable solid wood chair based on proven constructions and however re-constructed in terms of comfort and function. The curved backrest correspond to the human body and provide support and comfort. The seat can be equipped with wood or upholstered surfaces. Due to the aesthetic and constructive reduction, the design does not need a specific surrounding and is therefore universally usable.

Folded aluminum sheet parts are welded together to provide different furniture items for the Studio of Deutsche & Japaner such as side tables, a sideboard, and two couch table elements. Each part is folded in a 90-degree angle and welded onto the next folded surface. This pragmatic way of construction creates a grammar that connects the different furniture items and formulates a collection that present and preserve all things around the studio.

The round table with a comfortable size can easily accommodate four to six people and makes a perfect dining table at home or meeting surface in an office.

Among the innumerable objects available around the world, there are a number of objects which are known to everybody. Thomas Schnur calls them common things: These are objects which everybody - regardless of their culture, nationality, or status - has seen somewhere or has used them. Thomas shares his experiences, insights, and thoughts, in chronological order from childhood to today, on a selection of 21 common things.

In the center of The Factory of Ideas installation is a seating furniture that is formed out of a cloud. The cloud is protected by a blue-transparent cube. The seat can be reached with the help of stairs and a wooden railing. Each component represents a covestro material. Symbols and signs from the factory- and museum architecture are combined to construct an associative space, which gives the visitor the opportunity to develop ideas and thoughts by using, watching and touching the materials.

Stability through torsion – the structure made of twisted flat rods forms the base frame of the Twist side table. Two times three elements create a rigid, stable structure which, thanks to the twisting, nevertheless appears light and delicate. The table communicates portability. It can be used flexibly in the most varied of spaces and continually interacts in new ways with other items of furniture and objects.

Station is an object between cable drum and side table. The furniture has an open structure which evokes associations of a tool. The front case is a deposition for tablet, mobile phone or magazines. The container on the back offers space for a multiple plug. An extension cable can be winded around the base frame. Color and form of the object respond to the language of combinable technical products and cables. In this way the object act as go-betweens of device, furniture and living space.

                                  Construct Table

The idea of the Construct Table is to trace the table back to its construction to subsequently rethink it through a factory. This approach leads to a table which reminds of the classic bistro table and simultaneously communicates its fabrication in sheet metal. The side table consists of a round table top and three identically constructed parts which are laser cut out of 3mm sheet metal. Afterwards the parts are fixed through spot-welding.

Gravity rethinks the idea of a wardrobe, starting at its essential elements. In a balance of forces the bended metal tube is held in its position only by a cord string - this string is fixed to the wall by two metal hooks.

The drain or plunger is an item, which, though it receives little attention, is actually extremely useful. Rubber Table adopts its idiosyncratic aesthetic and transfers it into a new environment. The rubber plunger has become a table leg – setting in motion a new way of looking at this ambivalent object. Manufactured with dyed foam rubber the color and the surface feel of the original object are preserved.

Bench Chair clearly takes its inspiration from the famous Monobloc Chair but puts the associations that any chair evokes into a new context. Its curved shape is contorted into a voluminous body, thereby creating an abstract space, such that observers are confronted with a transformed hybrid.
